Chris Pond

Chris is an experienced NED and holds a number of Chair positions including Chair of TrustMark, the Financial Inclusion Commission and Cape Claims Services Ltd. He is also a Trustee of the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute. Chris has a strong background in public service and served as an MP for Gravesham from 1997 – 2005. In this position, he held a number of high-profile roles, including Parliamentary Private Secretary to HM Treasury and Minister for Work and Pensions. 

Before entering Parliament, Chris was Director of the Low Pay Unit and Chair or trustee of a number of voluntary organisations in the social policy field. He is an honorary visiting professor at Middlesex University.
