Data Retention Beyond Seven Years

Summary of this change

CPW157 proposes to extend the period that data is retained in CMOS beyond the current seven years. This will provide a reference when resolving historical billing disputes and ensure no impact on settlement when historical reads are deleted.

On 11 March 2025, the Code Change Committee accepted this change into the change process and agreed a plan to progress it. The committee expects to make its recommendation to Ofwat whether to approve this change by November 2025.
