Interim Supply: Cost Recovery Mechanism

Summary of this change

CPW153 is an Authority Timetabled Change Proposal seeking to introduce a mechanism for retailers to recover additional costs they may incur when taking on customers through the Interim Supply process. This change arises from Ofwat's work to strengthen customer protection in Interim Supply Arrangements and their decision published on 22 July 2024. 

This is an Authority Timetabled Change Proposal so did not need to be assessed against the 'Initial Assessment Criteria' or 'Acceptance and Prioritisation Criteria' and the timetable was set out by Ofwat in the change proposal form. On 7 February 2025, Ofwat extended the deadline for the Code Change Comittee to submit its recommendation report to Ofwat. Its report should be submitted within five business days of the deciding meeting and before the end of May 2025. This was in recognition of the extended consultation and to allow more time for Ofwat to consider the working group's feedback before its solution is presented to the committee.
