RWG Skip Codes sub-group

Chair - Jamie Davies (Castle Water)

Purpose

To undertake a review of skip codes and identify which should be added to CMOS in addition to those highlighted as part of the code change CPW162 Cyclic Read Skip Codes.

To undertake a review to understand if the market code obligation for meter reading needs to be adjusted.

To consider potential good practice guidance for some skip scenarios and highlight any skips/scenarios that do not have a route to resolution.

Objectives/Outputs

  • The sub-group will support the implementation of CPW162 (if approved by Ofwat), specifically working to define an agreed list of skip codes, using the RWG Skip Codes guide as a basis, to be introduced on completion of the change process.
  • Draft guidance to support Retailers and Wholesalers, to complement the implementation of CPW162.
  • Following the implementation of CPW162 (if approved) the sub-group will look again at the idea of a ‘reaction code’ and consider the scope to raise a potential code change.
