Steve Creighton

Steve is a highly experienced senior leader and procurement professional who has had a significant impact on the way the public sector buys its energy.

 Having worked on both the buyer and supplier side, Steve has focused on large scale energy risk management solutions, renewable projects and commercial solutions across all utilities. Steve joined TEC in 2013 bringing his wide skill set to the university sector and supported establishing TEC as the recognised centre of excellence for energy procurement in their member sector.

 Steve has worked across the public, private and not for profit sectors so is well versed in the unique challenges to all in engaging with the markets and regulatory landscape. His approach has been to always put the customer first whilst supporting and developing the supply market in delivering better outcomes for all.

Since the run-up to the Water Retail Market opening and beyond Steve has worked on a number of large, collaborative, public sector procurement frameworks providing buyers access to the market and encouraging uptake. 

 Steve’s appointment to the Code Change Committee as the Alternative Customer Body Representative will allow him to provide wide customer insight to the decision making of the committee in support of effective market competition, improved customer outcomes and sustainable customer benefit.
