Matthew Glover

Originally from a scientific background, Matthew has over 20 years’ experience in the water industry and now leads the wholesaler function at the retailer, Wave.

Matthew previously worked for Northumbrian Water where he started his career in the Trade Effluent team, before progressing into customer account management, and so brings with him a breadth of knowledge of the sector and a great understanding of customer needs. 

Matthew joined Wave in 2015, playing a key role in preparing the company for market opening. During this time, he developed excellent knowledge of the market codes which has provided the backbone for much of his work.

In his current role of Head of Wholesaler Management, Matthew is responsible for a team that covers settlement, bilateral operational submissions, wholesaler relationship management and planned and unplanned events, and so has an in-depth understanding of a wide range of market activities.

Matthew has chaired the Retailer Wholesaler Group (RWG) sub-group on planned and unplanned events and has authored a number of change proposals since market opening. Currently, Matthew is a member of the MOSL Bilateral Steering Group and RWG RF Working Group. Matthew is also Wave’s representative at the CMA Technical Panel and Market Participants Forum as well as being Wave’s nominated Contract Manager.

In his spare time Matthew is a keen wildlife photographer.
