James Cleave

James Cleave is the Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Board member at Everflow. Since joining the company in early 2018, James has been at the forefront of developing the company strategy and has overseen a hugely successful period of growth for the company as it has transitioned from being a small new entrant to a more established medium sized retailer – the largest in the market to have grown exclusively through customers choosing to switch to us. A real high point was being recognised by the Financial Times in March 2021 as Europe’s third fastest growing company.

James is a chartered accountant by training, starting his career at a regional firm before moving to Deloitte in 2013, working in audit and engaging with large and medium enterprises on corporate governance and internal controls. With a significant amount of time spent working with clients in the utilities sector, the move into industry with Everflow was a natural step.

Having experienced a wide range of company cultures and businesses within the professional services industry, James is passionate about leadership and organisational behaviour as well as strategic execution.

The Strategic Panel is a fantastic opportunity for the market, particularly as we emerge from the pandemic, and James is excited about the opportunity to grapple with the fundamental underlying issues and the resulting impact on customers. He hopes to bring experience from a financial and commercial standpoint, as well as leading a high-growth organisation, to serve the Panel and wider market.
