A Panel Nominations Committee (PNC) has been created to appoint the Strategic Panel members. The PNC has confirmed the appointment of Trisha McAuley OBE as the Strategic Panel Chair.
The PNC invited trading parties to nominate suitable candidates for the two retailer and two wholesaler members of the Strategic Panel. Nominations closed 6pm on Friday 1 October 2021 and a meeting of the PNC was held on Friday 8 October 2021 to consider these nominations. Interviews were held on Wednesday 13 and Friday 15 October 2021. The PNC will convene on Friday 29 October 2021 to appoint the trading party members of the Strategic Panel.
The PNC also engaged Saxton Bampfyld to recruit three independent members. Applications closed at noon on Tuesday 5 October 2021 and a meeting of the PNC was held on Tuesday 12 October 2021 to consider these. Interviews will be held on Monday 25 October and Monday 1 November 2021.
Nominations
The following nominations were received for the two retailer and two wholesaler Strategic Panel members:
- Retailer Strategic Panel members - seven nominations
- Wholesaler Strategic Panel members - four nominations.
The Panel Nomination Committee reviewed nominations and shortlisted candidates suitable to progress through the selection process from the nominations.

Appointment
Appointment as a Strategic Panel Member is conditional upon receipt of
- a confirmation letter from the nominee that they are prepared to stand as a Strategic Panel Member and
- a release letter from their employer recognising their obligations as a Strategic Panel Member may override their obligations as an employee.
Candidates are requested to submit these letters before the Strategic Panel Nomination Meeting to avoid delay in appointments. Please use the templates below for Confirmation and Release letters.
