We are delighted to announce Anne Heal as a new Independent Non-Executive Director of the MOSL Board.
Anne joins MOSL with a wealth of experience in the utilities sector, providing a depth of NED experience, and a twenty-year track record of strategic delivery at Board level both in the UK and globally.
After some years in marketing communications, Anne joined BT where she held a number of senior roles including Director of Strategic Planning and Director of Corporate Business Development. She was Director of Regulatory Affairs for BT Group, leading the regulatory negotiations that led to the creation of Openreach, where she then became Managing Director, Strategy, and was heavily involved in the creation of Openreach’s sales and relationship management activities.
Since actively pursuing a portfolio career, Anne has chaired the Thames Water Customer Challenge Group (CCG) since 2015, which she will be stepping down from in March. She is also a board member of the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), where she chairs its customer panel; a lay member of the General Dental Council; an independent member of the Bank of England Enforcement Decision Making Committee and a panel member for the FCA’s Regulatory Decision Making Committee. Notably, Anne is also a member of the board at ELEXON and brings with her an extensive understanding of code development from a strategic and policy perspective. Anne is currently Chair of Volunteering Matters, and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and is a trustee of a number of other organisations.
In appointing Anne, Chair of the MOSL Board, Jim Keohane, said “I am thrilled to welcome Anne to the Board at this pivotal time for both MOSL and the market and as we look ahead to 2020/21. I know her experience and her passion for leading strategic change through effective communication and engagement will be truly welcomed by fellow Board members and our trading parties and wider stakeholders alike.
I look forward to Anne joining us and contributing to our shared goal of operating a market which delivers on its commitments for better outcomes to customers and makes it ‘easier to do business’ for all market participants.”
Anne will take up her appointment on 1 January 2020 and will join the first Board meeting of the New Year on 29 January.
