MOSL has published its Sustainability Report for second quarter of 2024/25. The report tracks progress against the commitments in our 2024/25 Sustainability Plan.
Key deliverables this quarter include:
- Degree apprenticeship scheme - we launched at our first annual Development Day – three colleagues are now enrolled in further education development fully funded through the Apprenticeship Levy
- Climate Change – we published our 2023/24 Carbon Statement which showed an overall carbon decrease of 28% on last year due to improving our calculations and datasets.
- Volunteering - we doubled the number of volunteer days by organising group volunteer days with our partners CGI and Alive with Ideas and providing support to our charity partner NO LIMITS for their work club
- Fundraising - Colleagues raised over £2000 for various charities by taking on challenges such as the Three Peaks Challenge, Test Way Walk and Shine Night Walk. Our colleagues baked for our building neighbours in aid of MacMillan Coffee Morning and got into the Olympic spirit by taking part in our Olympic sweepstake.
- Education – we employed five University of Southampton graduates/students for our summer internship programme and our one-year HR Internship completed her tenure with us. Two interns have been taken on part time whilst they complete their studies.
- Local Authority dashboard – we produced a dashboard to show development moratoriums due to water scarcity
- Transparency – we developed new sustainability pages of the MOSL website.
