At its General Meeting on 29 February, trading parties approved MOSL’s 2024-27 Business Plan

The plan set out MOSL’s five key improvement programmes and how we will deliver and advance our core service provision, aligned to our three-year strategy

Following the consultation in January, our final plan showed a 1% reduction from our proposed draft budget. Our revised Market Operator (MO) charges, in response to members’ feedback, are £13,530K – an overall increase of 11% from our 2023/24 charges.

Along with this small reduction in charges, we also sought to reduce the level of cost for the Data Assurance Service, which was subject to a separate vote.

In total, we received 47 proxy votes out of a total of 58 members eligible to vote, which is 81% of the required, in order for the General Meeting to be quorate.

The first resolution was to approve our 2024-25 annual budget of expenditure of £13,630k. 46 members (97.9%) voted in favour of the resolution, with 1 members voting against. [0 members abstained from voting).

The second resolution was to approve the MO charges (£430k), levied on wholesalers, to deliver the Data Assurance Service (previously the Central Data Cleanse Service), as specified in code change CPM050: Data Cleanse Funding. These charges do not form part of MOSL’s core MO charges for 2024-25.

42 members (93.3%) voted in favour of this resolution, with 3 members voting against and 2 members abstaining.

A further breakdown of the voting results, along with a recording of the General Meeting, can be found on the General Meeting page of our website.

We would like to thank our members for voting to approve our 2024-27 Business Plan and the associated Data Assurance Service, which is one of the key improvement programmes outlined in our plan. We recognise the continued cost challenges for all parties operating in the market and will ensure our programmes of work deliver value for money and, ultimately, improve the market for business customers.

As a reminder, we have published a summary of the responses received to our consultation.
