On 8 November 2019, MOSL CEO, Sarah McMath, was joined by leaders from across the water industry to discuss the collective and ongoing challenges we are facing in the water retail market in the third year of market operation.
The CEO Forum was also an opportunity for Sarah to introduce the key themes and indicative budget outlined in MOSL's draft 2020/21 Business Plan, which was published for member consultation on 22 November.
The overarching focus in the 2020/21 Business Plan is making it ‘easier to do business’ – reducing the indirect cost and frictions associated with operating in the market. In developing the plan, and as part of our commitment to increase collaboration to drive and tangible improvements, we thought it crucial to provide an opportunity for our members and key stakeholders to ask questions and challenge the focus areas within ourplan.
As part of our commitment to increased transparency we would also like to share with our members and the wider market, the presentations from the day, including those from Sarah and our guest speaker, MEUC Water Policy Advisor, Karma Loveday.
Sarah's full presentation has been broken down into three sections, including the welcome, introduction to our business plan and the open Q&A with member Chief Executives and key stakeholders.
Following the CEO Forum and through responses to the online consultation form, we are reflecting on the feedback and clear messaging from our members to ensure the final plan is reflective of a value market operator, and one that is resourced and capable of delivering for members in 2020/21.
