Margaret joined the MOSL Board in July 2015, as the company was established to lead the opening of the market in 2017. She has been a cornerstone of the Board, in getting MOSL and the market ready for opening, and in supporting the organisation mature into an efficient and stable market operator.
Margaret has had a varied executive and non-executive career and was heavily involved in the privatisation of the electricity industry. She was Chief Executive of the Electricity Pool, which enabled wholesale trading in the new market. She also led British Gas’ efforts to separate its gas supply and network businesses. Her extensive experience in the utilities sector has been an asset to MOSL during her time as Non-Executive Director.
Chair of the MOSL Board, Anne Heal, said “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Margaret for her tremendous contribution to both MOSL and the market over the course of the last six years. She has been an integral part of MOSL’s development as we have moved from ‘start up’ company to a maturing and capable market operator. She was Chair of the Panel in the year the market opened. Margaret also contributed to last year’s Board effectiveness review which enabled a number of improvements to be made to strengthen MOSL’s own governance. On behalf of MOSL, I wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
Margaret will formally step down from her role on 15 July 2021.
