Following a comprehensive recruitment process, MOSL is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Pond as a new Independent Non-Executive Director of MOSL’s Board.
Chris is an experienced NED and holds a number of Chair positions including Chair of TrustMark, the Financial Inclusion Commission and Cape Claims Services Ltd. He is also a Trustee of the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute. Chris has a strong background in public service and served as an MP for Gravesham from 1997 – 2005. In this position, he held a number of high-profile roles, including Parliamentary Private Secretary to HM Treasury and Minister for Work and Pensions.
Chris will also become Chair of MOSL’s Remuneration Committee. His full biography is available on the MOSL website.
Separately, MOSL has conducted an election for the elected Associated Retailer position on the MOSL Board, following the end of Lucy Darch’s term on 17 September. This role is voted for by associated retailers, as a membership category of MOSL.
Following the Nominations Meeting held on Friday, 15 September, Anita Adam, Legal and Regulatory Director at Water Plus, was appointed as the new Associated Retailer Non-Executive Director of the MOSL Board.
Anita is a qualified lawyer. She joined Water Plus in June 2023 as Legal and Regulatory Director, sitting on the Water Plus Board. She previously worked at Molson Coors for 11 years, for the last six years as Legal and Corporate Affairs Director. Her full biography is available on the MOSL website.
In welcoming the two new Board members, MOSL Chair, Anne Heal, said:
“I am delighted to welcome both Chris and Anita to the MOSL Board in their respective roles as Independent Non-Executive Director and Associated Retailer Director.
Chris joins the Board with a wealth of experience in leadership and NED positions. His background in both the public and private sectors will bring valuable and complementary expertise to our Board.
I would also like to welcome Anita, whose combined legal, corporate affairs and regulatory experience will be of great value as we continue to seek to advance an effective and customer-focused water market.
In welcoming Anita, I would like to thank Lucy Darch for her contribution to the Board over the past three years.
Lucy’s insight, her extensive experience in the utilities sector and her relentless focus on customers has been invaluable as we developed our first three-year strategy and responded to a rapidly evolving landscape navigating a national pandemic, the energy and cost of living crises and PR24 and the Retail Exit Codes review. Lucy has also been a trusted member of the Remuneration Committee.”
Both Chris and Anita take up their roles from 18 September.
