MOSL publishes its Business Plan for 2019/20
MOSL today published its Business Plan for 2019/20, following approval from its members at a General Meeting today. The Business Plan sets out MOSL’s main priorities for the coming year, some new initiatives, and the budget to deliver it.
There will be a strong emphasis over the coming year on making real progress to improve market performance, especially in the area of data quality.
In the lead up to the General Meeting, MOSL consulted widely with its members and other market participants to determine the areas of focus and ensure the needs of the market were fully considered. This feedback was used to shape the final version of the Business Plan.
The 2019/20 Business Plan, which received overwhelming backing by members, calls out four key priorities:
- Improvement in market performance and data quality
- Improvement in bilateral engagement between parties
- Further stabilisation of the market through improved CMOS reporting
- A greater pace of code change.
The total 2019/20 market operator budget of £10,696k is on par with the 2018/19 budget and three per cent lower than the £10,990k budget projected for 2019/20 in the 2017/18 Business Plan. This represents an eight per cent reduction from the 2018/19 budget, excluding the ring-fenced £250k Market Improvement Fund, and the Bilaterals project.
MOSL Chair, Jim Keohane, said: “We very much welcome the approval of this third Business Plan, which is a positive demonstration that MOSL continues to reflect the widely held views of how best to develop the market and its customers. We have focused on the key priority areas that we believe will stabilise and mature the market, and the MOSL Board welcome the support members have shown for the 2019/20 Business Plan.”
