Today, MOSL published its 2024/25 Sustainability Plan, which sets out our 12 commitments and key areas of work to enable us to ‘make a positive impact, inspire positive action and empower positive change’.

This is our second Sustainability Plan, and like our first plan, it is firmly rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and uses UK Government tools to assess our impact and provide confidence that we are doing the right things to become a ‘Business for Good’.

Sustainability is largely an employee-led programme. It was therefore important that, in its first year, we captured the hearts and minds of colleagues and our leaders and proved its worth. This we did, delivering over 90% of our commitments, showing that sustainability is not just a nice-to-have but a must-have for MOSL and, indeed, every organisation.

This year, we are setting out new commitments—some evolutions, some bold new actions—to support us in driving sustainable practices both within MOSL and beyond. To support this, sustainability is now embedded across every level of our organisation. Chris Pond, an Independent Non-Executive Director of the MOSL Board, joined as our Board-level sponsor. This creates Board-level oversight and accountability – ensuring sustainability is embedded in our working practices and strategic decision-making. Sustainability is also part of our 2024-27 Strategy and features in colleagues’ personal development plans.

Chris Pond, MOSL Board Sustainability Sponsor said:

“I am thrilled to be the new Board-level sponsor for sustainability. When I joined MOSL, it was clear the organisation was passionate about doing good work – not only in terms of its business plan commitments but in terms of its responsibilities to colleagues, communities and its industry. I look forward to championing this good work as it develops and hopefully bringing others with us on the journey.”
