Senior Leadership Roundtable discussion
Following Ofwat’s approval of the code change CPM026 allowing for the MOSL Board and Panel Chairs to be split, we invited The Water Report’s, Karma Loveday, to facilitate a Roundtable discussion between the newly appointed Chair of MOSL, Anne Heal, and Chair of the Panel, Trisha McAuley OBE, together with MOSL CEO, Sarah McMath. Karma asked the new senior leaders to share their thoughts on their new roles, the vision for working collaboratively to drive improvements and why key issues are persisting in the water retail market.
Filmed on 14 September in Southampton, just two weeks after taking up their new roles, the discussion focused on what is needed next in the market and how this change in governance can facilitate innovation and act as a timely opportunity to drive senior Board level engagement across the market – the lack of which was called out in Ofwat’s recently published Review of Incumbent Support for Effective Markets (RISE) report.
The discussion has been broken down into three bitesized, lunchtime learning sessions. These will be released each Monday over the next three weeks.
- The first session introduces Trisha and Anne in their new roles, outlines the distinct responsibilities of MOSL and Panel and focuses on the evolving new ways of working and the importance of trust and strong working relationships to improve the market for the benefit of its customers.
- In the second session, Karma asks Sarah specifically how MOSL is working to address key market challenges such as metering, quality of data, retailer-wholesaler interactions and COVID-19 unwinding.
- The third session discusses the importance of strong leadership, getting the basics right and gaining the confidence of trading parties and stakeholders.
