Retailer Measure of Experience (R-MeX)

The Retailer Measure of Experience (R-MeX) is a survey that provides a quantitative, as well as qualitative, measurement of wholesaler service to their retailer(s). It evolved from a Retailer Wholesaler Group (RWG) workstream, which began in August 2018, and is currently run twice a year. The survey consists of eight questions covering topics such as engagement, communication and data quality, asking retailers to provide a score between 0-10 with the option to provide additional feedback via an open text field.

As of 1 April 2025, the R-MeX survey makes up 25% of the Business Customer and Retailer Measure of Experience Survey - find out more on the BR-MeX webpage.

Survey dates

The R-MeX takes place for the duration of February and August every year.

The first league table below outlines the average score received by each wholesaler reviewed across seven areas, in the August 2025 survey. These areas correspond to the six areas with a rating score. The table is ranked by ‘Overall Service’. The second table shows the movement of the average scores between the February 2025 and August 2025 surveys. An average of the last two surveys is shared with Ofwat for their BR-MeX calculations.

Please note that any wholesaler that has fewer than three responses is omitted from the league table, therefore the total values at the bottom may differ slightly from the whole market equivalent.
